Eckhaus Latta Fall 2018

The designer duo behind Eckhaus Latta presented another strong collection in a Bushwick warehouse, with an emphasis on textiles and tailoring (done the Eckhaus Latta way of course). Here, our show notes for the collection.

Memorable piece —

Look 27, a striped blazer with extreme rounded shoulders, paired with a brown pencil skirt.

Remarkable fabric —

The knitted material of look 11. The look was super casual, but the fabric held together at the corners and fused together to form a new sort of patchwork sweater was really interesting.

Model moment –

Eckhaus Latta is known to cast a diverse model group, using friends, pregnant women and people who break the mold age-wise too. This season (and the last) Paloma Elsesser walked the runway and looked amazing. Producer and musician SOPHIE, who is rumored to be producing Rihanna's next album, also walked.

Collection inspiration —

Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta typically don’t cite any specific inspirations when referencing their collections, and this season seemed to offer some of the line’s same signature items revamped, such as color spliced home-y looking knits and elements of structured suiting.

Potential trend —

Suiting for women. Especially when it’s oversized and boxy, and in unconventional colors like rusty brown or in big black and white stripes.

Location —

The show took place inside the same Brooklyn warehouse the brand used last season. As guests took their seats models meandered around the various rows.
