It’s always exciting to see what great designers and fashion can do with the right inspiration, especially when it comes to the arts and pop culture. Earlier this month, Zoë Kravitz showed up to the premiere of The Batman in a Catwoman-inspired fit that had the Internet buzzing in delight. In light of this film-forward look, L'OFFICIEL is looking at our favorite past film-inspired red carpet ensembles.

Zoë Kravitz at The Batman Premiere

Channeling her inner Catwoman at the New York premiere of The Batman, Kravitz turned up in a custom black Oscar de la Renta gown with a tastefully laced-up cat-silhouetted bodice. A playful introduction to Kravitz’s character in the highly-raved about film.

Zendaya at the Spider-Man: No Way Home Premiere

Zendaya is always one to be experimental with her red carpet looks. In December of 2021, the Euphoria star came decked out in a slinky spiderweb-themed Valentino gown, accompanied by a black, shimmery webbed mask for the Spider-Man: No Way Home premiere in Los Angeles.

Carrie-Anne Moss at The Matrix: Resurrections Premiere

To honor the futuristic world of the cult-favorite film The Matrix, Carrie-Anne Moss complemented the film’s green carpet with her black chiffon and green and silver sequined Oscar de la Renta gown for the film's U.S. premiere.

Scarlett Johansson at the Avengers: Endgame World Premiere

By far one of the most talked-about looks at the Avengers: Endgame premiere was Scarlett Johansson’s shimmery ensemble. Paired with an elaborate Infinity Gauntlet-inspired bracelet—a gift from her husband Colin Jost—this look was popular amongst fans.

Angelina Jolie at the Maleficent: Mistress of Evil Premiere

To match her "evil" vibe in the film, Angelina Jolie showed up to the premiere in a sequined black gown, accessorized with a 50-karat diamond and glitzy scorpion brooch. A villainous touch that was much appreciated by fans as she strutted down the red carpet for photos.

Lily James at the Cinderella Premiere

Much like the princess herself, Lily James came decked out in a gorgeous silver Elie Saab gown that had her sparkling on the red carpet. The actress also accentuated the look with her own rendition of the iconic glass slipper—in the form of a pair of Jimmy Choo heels, of course.

Cara Delevingne at the Valerian Premiere

Modern meets futuristic with Cara Delevingne's silver number for the premiere of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. The almost see-through fitted Iris Van Herpen gown rivals that of intergalactic armor, a nod to the themes of the film.

Elle Fanning at the Maleficent: Mistress of Evil Premiere

Much like Jolie, Elle Fanning also turned up to the Maleficent: Mistress of Evil premiere in a gown that references her character. The olive Gucci number was adorned with floral accessories that flowed across her bodice, back, and even down her hair.

Keira Knightley at The Nutcracker and the Four Realms Premiere

Dressed in a Chanel Spring/Summer 2005 Haute Couture ensemble, Keira Knightley was the beauty in white at the London premiere for The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. The look was made sweeter with a pastel pink bow tied across her back, complemented with her hair put up in a neat low bun.

Jennifer Lawrence at the Mother! Premiere

To match the poster for Mother!, Jennifer Lawrence graced the red carpet in an elegant white gown designed by Dior. The actress completed the look by having her hair in a stylish up-do, leaving neat tendrils to frame her face.
