Harry Brant, Son of Stephanie Seymour, Dies at 24

The New York City socialite and his brother were once referred to as "NYC’s Most Beautiful Teenage Brothers.”

Late Monday night, it was reported that Harry Brant, the son of supermodel Stephanie Seymour and businessman Peter M. Brant, died on Sunday from a drug overdose after stuggling with addiction for many years. He was 24.

In a statement to the New York Times, his family said, "We will forever be saddened that his life was cut short by this devastating disease. He achieved a lot in his 24 years, but we will never get the chance to see how much more Harry could have done."

Having grown up in Manhattan, Brant, and his older brother, Peter Jr., were very much involved in the city's fashion and nightlife scene. At one point, the pair were dubbed "NYC’s Most Beautiful Teenage Brothers.”

Through their parents' fashion and art affliations, runways shows, events, and parties were a part of the family's natural ecosystem. Not only did Harry attend the Met Gala for the first time at the age of 16, but beginning in his teen years, the young style wiz began creating a name for himself as a burgeoning tastemaker for gender-fluid fashion.

As such, Harry tried to make a career in the industry, though with a few false starts, including starting a makeup line with his brother, modeling, and writing as a teenage correspondent for Interview Magazine.

He attended Bard College, but did not graduate. The socialite was also arrested in 2016 for failing to pay a $27.85 cab fare to his house in Greenwich, Connecticut. According to his parents, prior to his death, Harry was set to return to rehab.

“Harry was not just our son,” reads his family's statement. “He was also a wonderful brother, loving grandson, favorite uncle and a caring friend. He was a creative, loving and powerful soul that brought light into so many people’s hearts. He was truly a beautiful person inside and out.”
