Miley Cyrus Calls Her Marriage to Liam Hemsworth a 'Disaster'
While performing at a recent music festival, Miley Cyrus shared some insights into her eight-month marriage to Liam Hemsworth.
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth dated for 10 years (on and off) after they first met on the set of their film The Last Song. Playing love interests, the pair quickly fell for each other in front of the camera, slowly becoming one of young Hollywood's biggest couples. They decided to tie the knot in a secret wedding in December 2018. However, just eight months later, in August 2019, the actor reportedly asked for a divorce.
Recently, while on stage at Lollapalooza Brasil, Cyrus shared some thoughts on the relationship while helping a fan propose to her boyfriend. The singer said, “Honey, I hope your marriage is better than mine. Mine was a fucking disaster.”
Previously, in an interview with Howard Stern, Cyrus commented on why her and Hemsworth's relationship didn't last. "Our relationship had a lot of conflicts. When I get home, I want to be anchored by someone. I don't like dramas or fights," she revealed
The young singer believes they might never have married had they not lost their home in a Malibu fire in 2018. “Our house caught fire. We were like, engaged – I don't know if we really thought we were going to get married (...) I just clung to what was left of that house, which was me and him. And I really love him and I loved him so, so, so much and I still love him, I always will.”
Now, Cyrus is reportedly dating musician Maxx Morando while Hemsworth is in a relationship with model Gabriella Brooks. While they did not have the fairytale ending everyone wished for, we still have The Last Song to cling to.
