Succeeding the late Davide Renne, Argentinian designer Adrian Appiolaza takes the reins at Moschino.

After 10 years at <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/men/jamie-dornan-loewe-global-brand-ambassador-fashion-celebrity-news">Loewe</a>, Argentinian designer Adrian Appiolaza is taking the helm of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/franco-moschino-fashion-radical-designer-jeremy-scott">Moschino</a>, succeeding Davide Renne and Jeremy Scott. He will be reporting to Massimo Ferretti, the Executive Chairman of Aeffe S.p.A., who was honored to welcome Appiolaza to the Aeffe family.
"With his arrival at Moschino, Adrian brings with him a unique wealth of experience, creativity and knowledge of the history of fashion that will be instrumental to write a wonderful new chapter in the adventure of the brand founded by Franco Moschino," said Ferretti in a press statement. "I was immediately struck by the explosive creativity of Adrian, a personality full of energy and enthusiasm, elements that have always distinguished the history of the Moschino brand."

Who is Moschino&#39;s new creative director Adrian Appiolaza?

Born in Buenos Aires in 1972, he cultivated creativity in his grandmother's tailoring shop, learning the basics of his future work. His passion for English music drove him to London, where he discovered a diverse artistic universe. After his first experiences with <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/who-is-sean-mcgirr-alexander-mcqueen-new-creative-director-sarah-burton">Alexander McQueen</a> and Miguel Adrover,&nbsp;Appiolaza was noticed by <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/phoebe-philo-celine-chloe-designer-return">Phoebe Philo</a>.
"It was Phoebe Philo who changed the course of my career," he said in a note published this morning following his appointment as the new creative director. "She saw the collection with which I graduated and invited me to join her at Chlo&eacute; in 2002."
Since then, Appiolaza has had a career spanning fashion houses such as <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/miu-miu-spring-summer-2024-paris-fashion-week-runway-images">Miu Miu</a>, from 2006 to 2010, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/saoirse-ronan-louis-vuitton-new-ambassador">Louis Vuitton</a> during the years of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/marc-jacobs-heaven-cultural-zeitgeist-fashion-collections-trends">Marc Jacobs</a>, then <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/chloe-atelier-jolie-collection-angelina-jolie-gabriela-hearst-sustainable-fashion">Chlo&eacute;</a> again, where he spent two years under the guidance of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/clare-waight-keller-uniqlo-c-capsule-collection-fashion-exclusive-interview">Clare Waight Keller</a>, and finally Loewe, where, alongside Jonathan Anderson, he has been overseeing women's ready-to-wear.

His Instagram profile documents his continuous search for iconic items&mdash;including "garments from designers who changed the history of fashion"&mdash;to add to his personal collection. "Franco Moschino has always been among them," he said. "Having access today to these memories; walking through these corridors overflowing with history just waiting to be heard; touching clothes that I had only seen in magazines has been invaluable and will serve as a compass in the journey I have just begun."</div>

When will Appiolaza show his first collection?

The first Moschino collection designed by Appiolaza, succeeding the Italian designer Davide Renne who passed away less than a month after taking on the role of creative director, will be shown on Feb. 22 during <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/celebrities-milan-fashion-week-spring-summer-2024">Milan Fashion Week</a>. &nbsp;
