MV Tiangue Embodies the New Desigual x Stella Jean Collection
At 21 years old, MV Tiangue has made her mark on TikTok where she now has more than 700,000 followers. Spontaneous, creative, and avant-garde, passionate about fashion, art, and literature, today, she is a model for the younger generation.
As TikTok continues to take over the social media landscape, influencers like MV Tiangue are being called on by brands to front their new collections and campaign. A prime example: Tiangue stars in Desigual's new campaign for the Desigual x Stella Jean collaboration. To celebrate, L'OFFICIEL spoke to the 21-year-old about her relationship with fashion, TikTok, and Paris.
L'OFFICIEL: If you were spending the day in Paris, where can we find you?
MARIE-VICTOIRE TIANGUE: ChezSnowBunny is a vintage shop where I love to shop or even just chill.
L'O: Where is your perfect dinner and with whom?
MVT: At The Area, with my group of friends.
L'O: What was your life like before social media?
MVT: It was pretty much the same, with more school and less travel. But just as hectic.
L'O: What is the current soundtrack to your life?
MVT: "Lose My Breath" by Destiny's Child.
L'O: What is most important to you about your influence?
MVT: To make people who follow me realize that they can dress as they wish. And if I can send more committed messages through my posts, I don't hesitate, for example recently, to encourage young people to vote.
L'O: In the past, you have been vocal about your past experiences. What social causes are most important to you?
MVT: Racial discrimination is an injustice that particularly affects me and I share in my stories ways to fight it whenever I have the opportunity.
L'O: What compliment do you receive most often?
MVT: I tend to get many compliments when my hair is down.
L'O: What is the best advice you have been given?
MVT: People are often too preoccupied with themselves to take the time to judge you. I find this sarcastic, but very true.
L'O: What relationship do you have with fashion?
MVT: I like to dress up, for me it's a way to show my personality without having to explain myself.
L'O: How would you define your style?
MVT: Honestly, it would be a different word each day. I go through different phases: I like to layer clothes, try new things, be comfortable and chic. It really depends on how I feel in the morning.
L'O: Who are your favorite designers?
MVT: I always have loved Miu Miu and Chanel…At the moment, I have been crushing on Glenn Martens and Diesel. However, I cannot stop thinking about Daniel Roseberry's haute couture Schiaparelli collection.
L'O: What was your first fashion memory when you were a child?
MVT: Drawing clothes in TopModel albums was my favorite hobby.
L'O: Who would be your dream follower?
MVT: I would not have any complaints against having Jacob Elordi follow me.
L'O: When you were little, what did you want to do as a job?
MVT: I wanted to be a prima ballerina and then a stylist.
L'O: Your mantra?
MVT: If you get tired, learn to rest, not to quit.
L'O: What are your goals for the next few years?
MVT: I want to continue to explore the fashion industry and the world at large.
