Carey Mulligan to Make Investigative Film About Harvey Weinstein
The Promising Young Woman actress is set to star in a new film about the rise of the #MeToo movement in 2017.
Actress Carey Mulligan is preparing for an important and controversial film about the investigation into former American film mogul Harvey Weinstein, sentenced in 2020 to 23 years in prison for various sex crimes. She Said, the name of the feature, is scheduled to be released later this year and will also show the history of the #MeToo movement—which is against any kind of sexual abuse and harassment and encourages all people to break the silence against abusers.
Mulligan and Zoe Kazan will play Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, respectively, the two New York Times reporters who investigated the case and, consequently, led to the widespread adoption of the #MeToo movement in 2017. The movie, based on the book released by the reporters of the same name, is scheduled to be released on November 18, 2022.
