Some of the hottest movie premieres are happening all over New York this week.&nbsp;

One of the biggest weeks for independent film is upon us. The <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/art/chanel-tribeca-film-festival-new-york-art-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tribeca Film Festival</a> brings the cinema world to New York City for a week of <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/cannes-film-festival-2024-biggest-premieres" target="_blank" rel="noopener">premieres</a>, talks, events, and more. The movies that make their debut at Tribeca go on to do big things from major sales to streaming giants to theatrical releases nationwide. Unlike other festivals, where the fun is all concentrated into one major venue or street, the Tribeca Film Festival takes place in theaters all over the city.&nbsp;
There are hundreds of films making their debut at the <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/save-the-date/bvlgari-tribeca-film-festival-2019" target="_blank" rel="noopener">festival</a> though, so knowing which ones to get a ticket for is key. L&rsquo;OFFICIEL USA put together its top choices for the screenings to be at this festival.&nbsp;

Jazzy

<a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/who-is-lily-gladstone-actress-indigenous-killers-of-the-flower-moon" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lily Gladstone</a> is reuniting with Morrisa Maltz on this new film. The movie is meant to be a companion piece for their other successful project, The Unknown Country. The Unknown Country followed Gladstone&rsquo;s Tana on their road trip, while the new film will focus on her friend Jazzy&rsquo;s life and backstory. The film is screening June 9, 10, and 12 at the Village East by Angelika Cinema.

Daddio

Everyone has been caught in traffic before trying to get back home from the airport. Daddio takes the simple premise to a new level, swapping in <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/dakota-johnson-madame-web-movie-interviews" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dakota Johnson</a> and Sean Penn as the rider and driver. The two have a prolonged, frank discussion of life and love on Johnson&rsquo;s character&rsquo;s way home. The film is screening on June 10 and 12 at the Village East by Angelika Cinema.

Group Therapy

Filmmaker Neil Berkeley has put together a star-studded cast of alternative <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/kevin-hart-net-worth-highest-paid-comedians" target="_blank" rel="noopener">comedians</a> for this look into the balance between comedy and mental health. Mike Birbiglia, Nicole Byer, Gary Gulman, London Hughes, Tig Notaro, and Atsuko Okatsuka all feature in the film for a long talk about personal neuroses and ideas. The film is screening on Friday, June 7, at Village East and on June 13 at the AMC 19th Street.

Sacramento

This road trip comedy is a great ensemble of top talents like Maya Erskine, <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/fashion/best-kristen-stewart-sheer-see-through-trend-outfits" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kristen Stewart</a>, Michael Cera, and led by Michael Angarano. it&rsquo;s about looking to the future while examining their past as they cross the country toward their new life with less of their childhood jokes&mdash;supposedly. The film is screening on June 8 at the OKX Theater and on June 10 and 12 at the Village East.

Elizabeth Taylor: The Lost Tapes

Produced by <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/music/who-is-singer-songwriter-gracie-abrams-jj-abrams-daughter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">J.J. Abrams</a>, Sean Stuart, Glen Zipper, Bill Gerber, and Rachel Rusch Rich, this documentary takes a more intimate look at the icon of screen, stage, and <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/elizabeth-taylor-jewelry-diamonds-cartier-bulgari" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fashion</a>. The filmmakers used tons of previously unused interview footage and archives. It will screen on June 11 at the SVA Theater.

DeNiro Con

As the co-founder of the whole festival, <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/travel-living/celebrity-owned-restaurants-worth-checking-out-london" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Robert DeNiro</a> has an impressive resume of his own. The actor has been in The Godfather II, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas,&nbsp;and so many other classics. The festival is hosting a series of screenings of the legend&rsquo;s films to celebrate his 80th birthday. Passes are sold separately to DeNiro Con related films.
