Contrary to popular belief, Lauren was not actually the one who invented the polo shirt. It was actually invented by René Lacoste in 1926, who thought stiff tennis shirts were too uncomfortable. Lauren is, of course, responsible for making the shirt popular by coining the Polo Ralph logo, taking up the rights in the late '70s, and making them an iconic staple for years to come. Dylan has certainly learned from the best, as her father is one of the most successful designers and businessmen in fashion.
