Ralph Lauren Brings A-Game to the New York Yankees
On the heels of NYFW, Ralph Lauren isn’t done playing hardball. After swapping out polos for a New York Yankees jersey and baseball pants, the powerhouse designer threw out the ceremonial first pitch at last night’s Yankees game against the Boston Red Sox.
“I’ve been everywhere and I’ve spoken in front of presidents. But this is probably the most exciting moment ever for me,” Ralph Lauren told WWD. And with good reason: the designer famously grew up in the Bronx.
A reiteration of his icon status, the first pitch is the latest in a big month for Lauren: he celebrated his 50th Anniversary last week with a fashion show at the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park, where even Oprah Winfrey and Hillary Clinton decided to come. Talk about making waves wherever you go.
