A year after releasing their nostalgic bop "1999," the duo takes a jet ski trip to the future.

Charli XCX embraces the opulence and extravagance in everything she does. Who else could effortlessly ride a jet ski while still serving a look in a ruffled, blush-colored blouse, stacked chains, and chunky boots? It could only be Charli, baby. Almost a year after the release of the nostalgic bop &quot;1999,&quot; the British songstress has joined forces with Australian pop star Troye Sivan in the music video for &ldquo;2099.&quot; The futuristic follow-up is the duo&#39;s&nbsp;most recent&ndash;and most action-packed&ndash;visual collaboration to date.

In the music video, the two pop musicians showcase their bravado, flipping and spinning on matching white jet skis. &ldquo;I pull up, roll up, fuck up/Fast like a Nascar, never touch us/Got visions, levels, they don&rsquo;t get me/Quiet, no discussions, please hush,&rdquo; sings XCX, inching closer to the camera while Sivan&nbsp;pulls flips behind her. He then pulls up next to her, jumps on her jet ski, and they ride off into the distance, looking more powerful than ever.

Last Friday, XCX released her first full-length album in five years,&nbsp;Charli, featuring a slew of featured artists (which excited her so much, she released most of the collaborations in the weeks leading up to the release)&nbsp;and some seriously futuristic sounds. With unconventional production from friend and prolific producer A.G. Cook, the album is her&nbsp;most vulnerable project yet. Mixing emotionally charged lyrics with themes of partying and late nights, the songs on Charli&nbsp;depict the duality of the artist&rsquo;s life and music.

&nbsp;

&ldquo;2099&rdquo; is an exploration into the future, one where XCX and Sivan are quite literally on another level. The music video, their second together, is one that will certainly leave you entranced. Check it out&nbsp;below.
