American singer and songwriter Jim Morrison was born to be a musician. From a young age, Morrison was full of creativity with a noticeable interest in reading and the arts. In college, he originally studied film, but eventually picked up an interest in poetry. At 22 years old, Morrison would begin to his ascension in the music world after forming his band The Doors.
The rock band quickly rose to success after the release of their second single "Light My Fire." The band would go on to create a slew of more hit numbers including "People Are Strange," "Hello, I Love You," "Five to One," and "Love Me Two Times." In 1971 Morrison departed from The Doors to focus on personal matters, though he was met with an unexpected passing not too long afterward. While he was taken too soon from this world at 27 years old, his legacy will always remain.
