The incoming global pop group Prelude is full of fan favorite stars-in-the-making, but there are a few puzzle pieces still yet to be matched to the whole picture.
In case you missed it, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/katseye-kpop-facts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Katseye</a>, the global girl group sweeping fans across the world off their feet&mdash;at major music festivals like Lollapalooza and awards shows like the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/2025-vmas-red-carpet-celebrities-style-ariana-grande-polka-dot-sabrina-carpenter-sheer-naked-dress" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2025 VMAs</a> alike&mdash;debuted in the summer of 2024 with an aptly titled song: "Debut." The group quickly went viral for their sweet friendship, fierce style moments, and catchy tunes, but in 2025, they're reaching astronomic heights&mdash;and show no signs of slowing down. Katseye was formed through a survival-style audition, documented in Netflix's Pop Star Academy: Katseye.
Ultimately, six girls&mdash;Sophia Laforteza, Megan Skiendiel, Lara Raj, Manon Bannerman, Yoonchae Jeung, and Daniela Avanzini&mdash;out of over 20 were selected to participate in the project, a collaborative effort between labels Hybe and Geffen. Though fans absolutely adore Katseye as they are&mdash;an understatement if the heaps of reverence on social media amount to anything&mdash;there were several girls who didn't make the Katseye lineup, and causing some to keep lingering on the original auditions.&nbsp;
For some, technical skills were not quite up to par, while others, like Ad&eacute;la, standout solo acts were simply a better fit. In the year (and change) since the group officially debuted, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/katseye-members-dream-academy-contestants-where-are-they-now-adela-emily-iliya" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the&nbsp;Pop Star Academy&nbsp;girls who didn't make the cut</a> have been busy training, and now, a few of them are back and better than ever&mdash;but this time, as Prelude.&nbsp;
Just a few weeks before Prelude began posting its new members on social media, the account posted a call for an applicant&mdash;seemingly based in Japan&mdash;and thousands of comments flooded in, expressing their desire for a coveted spot in the group.&nbsp;On Aug. 25, a new account connected to both Hybe and Geffen began posting, and it instantaneously became clear that fans were witnessing the genesis of a brand-new girl group&mdash;except for the fact that it wasn't really all that new. First came Emily Kelavos, then in the days that followed, Samara Siqueira, and Lexie Levin&mdash;though all three girls were deemed extraordinarily talented by professionals, they were all on the original&nbsp;Pop Star Academy&nbsp;show.&nbsp;

Over two weeks have passed since the very first member announcement, so as it currently stands, the account's administrators seem to be hinting that there's one final member who has yet to be introduced.&nbsp;

Some believe the mystery member could be Ezrela Abraham or Marquise. However, if the group capacity is limited to four, which it seems to indeed be capped at, and labels are serious about a Japanese member, it's likely the final Prelude member will be a relatively obscure young idol.&nbsp;
