Who is Austin Swift, Taylor Swift's Brother?

The younger brother of singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has appeared in and produced several of his sister's music videos, but the acclaimed actor and business man has created a career for himself outside of his family lineage.

As we await the return of the highly coveted Eras Tour as well as the release of Taylor Swift's eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, the world-renowned superstar and female icon is yet again in the spotlight. However, Taylor is not the only successful Swift child in the entertainment industry. Austin Swift, the son of Scott and Andrea Swift, is not only a renowned actor, producer and businessman, but one of Taylor's biggest supporters.

Growing up with his older sister in West Reading, Pennsylvania on the family's Christmas tree farm, Austin alongside the rest of the Swift family moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2004 to support his older sister in her country music career. Now, at 31 years old, Austin manages specific elements of her music licensing for films and television.

After graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in film studies, Austin entered the entertainment industry upon his debut in the film industry in thriller films I.T. (2016) and Live by Night (2017) only one year later. He also starred in the sitcom Still The King (2017) and the horror film We Summon the Darkness (2019).

It appears Austin Swift has taken a break from acting after his last on-screen appearance in the comedy film Braking for Whales back in September 2019 alongside Harry Potter veteran Tom Felton. However, the Eras Tour star's brother did engage in the art of production as the co-producer of the sci-fi film I Am Mortal (2021).

Taylor Swift's younger brother is just as supportive of her as she is of him, and both Swift children have collaborated on production of each other's work. Austin Swift worked with his sister in the production of one of her most beloved tracks from Red (Taylor's Version), "I Bet You Think About Me" back in January 2022, supporting his sister in her fight to obtain the rights to her own music from her former record label, Big Machine Records. In addition, Austin Swift worked as an executive producer of Swift's Folklore: The Long Pond Series, Taylor's Disney+ performance documentary that came out in 2020.

The Swift siblings aim to remain close despite their expeditious careers, and both Taylor Swift and her younger brother often post on Instagram in celebration of each other's achievements. Austin Swift promoted his sister's ninth studio album Evermore on his Instagram in 2020, encouraging his fans and followers to join in his praise of Taylor's undeniable talent and artistry. Since February 2022 though, Swift has not been very active on Instagram.

Still, the two have seen each other often between their busy schedules and also seem supportive of each other's recent romances. While Taylor Swift has been dating football player Travis Kelce, Austin has attended a number of 49ers games, including the 2024 Super Bowl, alongside his sister to cheer on her boyfriend and the team. Taylor also seems to have taken a liking to her brother's girlfriend of two years, model Sydney Ness. According to People, Ness accompanied Swift to Taylor's box at a couple of 49ers games and even was invited to Taylor's Independence Day celebration at the pop star's Rhode Island house.

Taylor Swift's The Tortured Poet's Department is set to be released April 19 at midnight EST. Taylor Swift and her younger brother are among the cutest celebrity siblings in Hollywood, and we can't wait to see what their next brother-sister collaboration entails.
