You'd have to be an expert in pop culture history to know these couples were once together.

Although it seems we get an inside scoop of every <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/5-surprising-celebrity-couples" target="_blank" rel="noopener">celebrity relationship</a> these days due to social media posts, plenty of unheard-of flings happened between movie and TV show co-stars back in the day. From Ted Danson and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/female-celebrities-egot-winners-emmy-grammy-oscar-tony" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Whoopi Goldberg&rsquo;s</a> brief romance after starring in Made in America in 1992, to Bradley Cooper and Ren&eacute;e Zellweger&rsquo;s 2009 on-and-off-screen romance after Case 39,&nbsp;L&rsquo;OFFICIEL looks at several of Hollywood&rsquo;s <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/jennifer-aniston-friends-reunion-david-schwimmer-crush-ross-rachel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">co-star</a> couples that you might never have known dated.

These two first met in 2019 on the set of the hit show Outer Banks where they played John B and Sarah Cameron, the two being love interests from different sides of the tracks. They began their off-screen romance in 2020 and dated for over a year until they amicably ended their relationship in November 2021. The show proceeded with its characters&rsquo; romantic storyline, and Cline and Stokes&rsquo; chemistry on-screen remained strong. Despite their breakup, the two actors remained professional friends who have immense respect for each other.&nbsp;

Reinhart and Sprouse met on the set of Riverdale and dated from 2017 until their breakup in 2020. The two portrayed Betty and Jughead, or as fans know them, Bughead on the CW series, and they continued work on the show together after their breakup. In an interview on the podcast Call Her Daddy, Sprouse explained how their work environment made it harder for the two of them to move on from the relationship, saying they both &ldquo;did quite a bit of damage to each other.&rdquo;

<h2>Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield&nbsp;</h2>

Staying true to the ongoing tradition of Spider-Man movie co-stars falling in love, Garfield and Stone kicked off their relationship while portraying the characters of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man. Their relationship began in 2010 and ended amicably around 2015. During this time, their growing admiration for each other was undeniable, as evident in many interviews. One of Garfield&rsquo;s most famous moments was when he described Stone as &ldquo;a shot of espresso,&rdquo; a phrase that would eventually become a viral sensation. Stone and Garfield have remained supportive friends, often seen honoring and admiring each other at various award shows.&nbsp;

<h2>Hunter Schafer and Dominic Fike&nbsp;</h2>

Fike and Schafer met on the set of Euphoria in 2021 and began dating in early 2022. The two had confirmed their relationship through Fike&rsquo;s posts of them together. By 2023, the two had mutually agreed to break up to focus on themselves. However, on an episode of Call Her Daddy, Schafer explained that she later found out there was infidelity within her relationship, and she then stated that being cheated on &ldquo;fundamentally changed me as a person.&rdquo; Fike has also hinted at his infidelity through his music since the breakup in 2023.&nbsp;

<h2>Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth&nbsp;</h2>

Cyrus and Hemsworth took the definition of on-again, off-again to a whole new level. The two stars met in 2009 on the set of the Nicholas Sparks movie adaptation of The Last Song, and began a relationship that would last for over a decade. The couple was engaged in 2012, but the engagement was called off in 2013. They were broken up for three years until they eventually rekindled their love in 2016. Cyrus and Hemsworth got married in 2018; however, they announced their separation in 2019. Their divorce was final in early 2020, putting the nail in the coffin of one of Hollywood&rsquo;s most-loved relationships.&nbsp;

These two first met in 1998 on the set of The Object of My Affection and continued their on-screen romance in real life afterwards. It appears that it ended amicably, as <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/jennifer-aniston-the-rachel-hairstyle-90s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Aniston</a> and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/paul-rudd-young-photos" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rudd</a> have been in several movies and TV shows together since then, including Rudd&rsquo;s reoccurring role on <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/friends-best-fashion-moments-trends-rachel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Friends</a> as Mike, who dated Phoebe Buffay.

<h2>Matthew McConaughey&nbsp;and Sandra Bullock</h2>

Meeting on the set of A Time to Kill in 1996, McConaughey and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/watch-the-badass-all-female-cast-of-ocean-s-8-in-new-trailer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bullock</a> dated for two years. We&rsquo;d like to believe they&rsquo;re on friendly terms, considering Bullock&rsquo;s interview with <a href="https://www.cosmopolitan.com/entertainment/celebs/news/a1550/sandra-bullock/">Cosmopolitan</a> in 2003. &ldquo;No matter where he is in his life or where I am in mine&mdash;he could be married&mdash;I know we would stay close,&rdquo; she said.

Okay&mdash;these two may not have been an official couple, but they did go on a date in 2014 after Poehler split with ex-husband Will Arnett. Apparently, Stamos asked her out for dinner, but Poehler didn&rsquo;t know it was a date&mdash;regardless, the They Came Together co-stars seem better off as friends.

After costarring in Made in America together in 1992, these acting legends began a romantic endeavor, even though Danson was still married to his second wife, Casey Coates. For obvious reasons, this fling ended in a messy split, in addition to a divorce between Danson and Coates, just the year after.

Long before she met fianc&eacute; <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/lily-collins-fiance-charlie-mcdowell-engagement-relationship-timeline" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Charlie McDowell</a>, Collins briefly dated the then-Twilight star. They grew close on the set of Abduction&nbsp;in 2010, but split one week before the film premiered.

<h2>Vanessa Hudgens and Josh Hutcherson</h2>

After working together on the 2012 film Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Hudgens and Hutcherson were briefly linked romantically, but it seems Hudgens was the one to call it quits. &ldquo;She broke my heart,&rdquo; Hutcherson joked on the Australian version of the Today show later that year. "I&rsquo;m just kidding. That was a while ago, we&rsquo;re just really good friends now.&rdquo;

Although they didn&rsquo;t start dating until a few years after in 2009, they broke up in 2011, apparently due to Cooper&rsquo;s work commitments.

The Friday Night Lights actress and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/clueless-is-getting-the-remake-treatment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Clueless</a> actor dated in 2005 after his divorce from ex-wife Lisa Askey. Despite working on the Stand Up to Cancer film with a number of other big-name celebrities, they split up after two years together. But Kelly didn&rsquo;t waste any time, later dating Derek Jeter on-and-off for a few years.

Meeting on the set of What&rsquo;s Eating Gilbert Grape? in 1993 following Lewis&rsquo; split with <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/brad-pitt-lady-gaga-joey-king-bullet-train" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brad Pitt</a>, these two were actually engaged but went their separate ways before tying the knot. Calling all Gleeks! Although portraying a teacher-student relationship on the TV show Glee, these two did date back in the day after crossing paths in different Broadway shows, according to her 2014 book, Brunette Ambition. Although it&rsquo;s unclear when exactly they dated, it was prior to Glee, which first aired in 2009, so they were able to start on friendly terms.
