Where are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Headed Next After Nigeria Trip?

It seems the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to resume their once-hectic travel schedule once again.

Although Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were once frequent travelers, making royal trip after royal trip, these days, it's rare that they leave their Montecito home. Travel for the couple certainly slowed after they welcomed their two children, Archie and Lilibet, and the COVID-19 pandemic forced plans to come to a complete standstill in 2020.

However, Prince Harry and Markle's recent trip to Nigeria marked the beginning of a new era for the couple.

"There’s only so much one can do from home and over Zoom, so we look forward to traveling more because the work matters. Whether it's the Archewell Foundation, Invictus or any of our other causes, there will always be reasons to meet the people at the heart of our work," Prince Harry said in a recent interview with People.

Although they no longer have royal tours to attend—the couple stepped down as Senior Royals in 2020—they are both actively engaged in personal charitable engagements. Between the couple's various initiatives, foundations, and philanthropic projects, Prince Harry and Markle are sure to have plenty of stops to make in their future travel plans.

"It is hugely important for us to meet directly with people, supporting our causes and listening, in order to bring about solutions, support and positive change," the duke said in the same People interview.

On the couple's most recent trip to Nigeria in early May 2024—which was short, but action-packed—the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited schools, attended polo games, and visited with enterprises that partnered with the Archewell Foundation and Invictus. Nigeria joined the Invictus Games in 2023, a move that evidently prompted the couple's visit.

"I’m so happy with the growth of Invictus and to include Nigeria," Prince Harry told People. "You know what Africa means to me over the years. It is a very, very special place, and to be able to include Nigeria now [in Invictus], I’m very happy."

Neither Prince Harry nor Markle has revealed where they plan to jet off to next, but with the Invictus Games taking place in Canada in February 2025, it's likely that a stop to Vancouver and Whistler, where events are being held, is in the future for the couple.
