Kate Middleton Was Gifted An AAC Tartan Wrap From Her Husband's New Regiment
The Prince and Princess of Wales as well as their Royal Highnesses George, Charlotte, and Louis were given touching gifts from the UK's Army Aviation Center.
After the Princess of Wales' recent announcement regarding her cancer diagnosis, she has understandably been absent from the public eye amidst her ongoing cancer treatment. Her husband, Prince William, was recently honored by his father, King Charles, with the title of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps. The role, which was previously held by the King, will oversee the Army Air Corps's regiment. Many are speculating that the honor would have gone to his younger brother Harry had he not stepped down as a working royal. Until 2014, Prince Harry flew with the regiment in Afghanistan.
Princess Kate was unfortunately unable to attend this function to celebrate her husband's latest achievement. However, the Army Air Corps gave her and her children gifts.
Per a post on X, The Daily Mail's Rebecca English reported that "William received an AAC tartan wrap for the Princess of Wales, a scarf for himself, and three wooden helicopters for their children" on his first day as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps. The AAC's website describes the ladies' wrap as a "versatile and beautiful item, woven in the same luxury soft brushed lambswool as the Royal Navy Tartan scarf."
As per a video announcement posted on Instagram on March 22, the Princess stated that she was in the "early stages" of preventative chemotherapy treatment.
"This, of course, came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family," the Princess of Wales said in the video.
Back in March, The Daily Mail's Royal Family correspondent commented on Wales' strength amidst this difficult period.
"How remarkable that he has even been able to do half of what he has undertaken publicly in recent months—even carrying out investitures for his cancer-stricken father – given everything that has been going on behind the scenes," Rebecca English said about the Prince.
King Charles, who's undergoing his battle with cancer, reportedly handed his eldest son the honor of Colonel-in-Chief with pride and said that William is a “very good pilot.”
