Even before finding his way to Buckingham Palace, Prince Philip has always been in the public eye. He grew up Greek and Danish royalty, born in 1921 and raised on the island of Corfu, Greece. The prince then met Queen Elizabeth II (a princess herself at the time) at a wedding in 1934. A bit over ten years later, the couple announced their engagement in 1947 and got married that same year.

The two have since spent a lifetime together on the royal throne, and the Duke of Edinburgh only recently passed away in 2021 at the age of 99. Dating back over a century, keep scrolling for photos of Prince Philip young and dashing as ever.
