We've Booked a Room at the New Equinox Hotel
Equinox has held the title for being the best of the best in terms of luxurious fitness clubs for as long as we can remember. From elite personal trainers to spa-like amenities and top rated group fitness classes, who would want to leave? Now you don’t have to. Well, not really.
Following the release of SHOWstudio’s Equinox campaign starring Naomi Campbell last month, we’ve been eagerly awaiting more information on the opening of Equinox Hotels and that information is finally here. On Wednesday, March 27th Equinox announced the opening of the first ever Equinox Hotel which is set to open in June of 2019 in Hudson Yards, New York City. This is the first of many locations the company has planned to open hotels in, with establishments in Los Angeles, Santa Clara, CA, Seattle, Chicago, and Houston now underway and additional cities in the works.
Along with the launch of their online booking platform for room reservations, the company has also released the first wave of details for the property, including design partners, room features, and guest amenities. Here is everything we know so far: the hotel is located within a private plaza at 35 Hudson Yards. It will have 212 rooms including 48 suites and a new Equinox Fitness Club (their largest fitness club yet) and Spa focusing on recovery designed by Joyce Wang. The building itself was designed by David Childs, with interior designs by David Rockwell.
The New York Hotel will also feature access to exclusive facilities for guests who become Equinox members during their stay. These facilities include signature group fitness classes, private Pilates, personal training services, performance-driven spa, 25-yard indoor salt water pool, hot & cold plunge pools, outdoor leisure pool and terrace with culinary concept from renowned restaurateur, Stephen Starr.
With a commitment to sleep like no other hotel before, Equinox Hotels has designed the ultimate sleep chambers for their rooms. Along with blackout windows and advanced soundproofing, each room in the hotel has COCO-MAT all natural fiber mattresses that perfectly adapt to any shape and form, and utilize a Scandinavian technique of two separate duvets that enable temperature regulation. Guests will be getting the best sleep of their lives.
To celebrate the launch of their new online booking platform, as well as everything else new and exciting at Equinox, the company is offering a great promotion for guests now booking rooms at the soon-to be hotel: guests who book via the hotel website can access a choice of one of the following complimentary: a 1-hour Personal Training session, SoulCycle class, or spa treatment.
