<p>Founded in 2013 by artists Helena Barquet and Fabiana Faria at the intersection of the Lower East Side and Chinatown,&nbsp;<span class="inline-flex" data-state="closed"></span>Coming Soon has spent over a decade as one of downtown's most beloved destinations&mdash;no introduction needed for those who already know. A mix of contemporary design objects, vintage furniture, and carefully chosen gifts, the space reads as a statement of intent: always evolving, never quite finished. Barquet and Faria, who met while working at an art gallery, bring that same curatorial eye to retailspotting emerging brands early and giving them their first real window. The name, as it turns out, is the whole point: there's always something new coming.</p>

<p>Claude-No&euml;lle Toly and William Nuckel have been doing this for a long time, but their store still feels like the best-kept secret in the West Village. Their store on the corner of West 4th and Bank Street is filled with pottery from the south of France: hand-turned, sun-colored, made by artisans whose techniques trace back centuries. The jagged beauty of a jasper-glazed platter. A pitcher shaped like an octopus. Faience mugs with a luster that catches the light differently every time. <p>Tumbao is a pop-up concept showcasing the work of emerging Latin American designers, creatives, and artists.
