<p>The 60-year-old Norway spruce currently placed at Rockefeller Center arrived on Nov. 8, and tonight, Dec. 3, the annual lighting of the tree will take place. In spite of weather conditions and road closures, clear skies are expected, and New Yorkers and tourists alike are already camped out at Rockefeller Center for a coveted front-row spot. This tradition has been a <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/new-york-city-fashion-beauty-lifestyle-store-openings-2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York City</a> staple since 1931, and New Yorkers will be able to purchase tickets to the ice skating rink or to one of the observation decks at Rockefeller Center to experience this Christmas tradition firsthand. Additionally, the Rockefeller tree lighting also offers VIP passes, which include an up-close tour of the tree and a champagne experience. After tonight, the Rockefeller Christmas tree will be lit from 5 a.m. to midnight all the way until January. On Christmas Eve, it will be lit for 24 hours, and on New Year's Eve, it will be lit from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">When is the NYC Christmas Tree Lighting</h2>

<p>The Christmas tree lighting will take place on the evening of Dec. 3, and will be lit just before 10 p.m. EST. There will be pre-show coverage of the event at 6:30 p.m. before the full broadcast at 7 p.m., hosted by Mario Lopez, David Ushery, and Natalia Pasquarella.</p>
<p>The national program will begin at 8 p.m. and will be hosted by Reba McEntire, who will be joined by <em>TODAY</em>'s Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, and Craig Melvin. They will be joined by various musical guests such as <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/ariana-grande-wicked-career-quitting-music-actor-roles-movies-upcoming-projects-tour" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kristen Chenoweth</a>, Marc Anthony, Michael Bubl&eacute;, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/olivia-rodrigo-birthday-party-tate-mcrae-louis-partridge" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Laufey</a>, and many more. Additionally, there will be a performance from the Radio City Rockettes, who celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2025.</p>
