Vera Wang Reveals the Secret Behind Her Ageless Appearance
The key to her ageless appearance isn't quite want you think.
As each year passes, fans of Vera Wang become more convinced that she's somehow immortal as she continues to show no signs of aging. At 74, she looks easily at least a decade younger, with many Wang stans begging to know the secret behind her ageless appearance. She finally shares the key to looking her young — and it's not the anti-aging serums and lifting eye creams we've become used to.
“Basically, I’ve worked my whole life, so it’s really been about work,” Wang told Page Six Style. “I think work keeps you young and stimulated. I work very long hours, I’ve raised two daughters. I think keeping busy is the best antidote [for] good health.”
But perhaps an even more surprising reveal behind her eternal youth is her rather youthful diet. Forget what you know about fruits and vegetables, Wang is proof that indulging in fast food actually has its benefits.
“I do eat McDonald’s, absolutely,” she said. "I order it every day, like two weeks on it, and then I’ll change."
But McDonald's isn't the only guilty pleasure for the fashion legend. She follows it up with a sweet treat from Dunkin Donuts. "I like the cream-filled, sugar-coated donut," she said. “It’s like a jelly donut, but it’s cream inside, vanilla cream. I like the pink with sprinkles, too."
While all fashion enthusiasts are well aware of Wang's empire, the fashion designer became viral during the pandemic years as the internet fawned over her ageless look. In a 2022 interview with BBC, Wang stated, "I never thought about going way out of my way to preserve youth in a fanatical obsessive way."
"You know I've been asked, 'What are my secrets?' And I've got to be really honest, one of them is sleep," she continued. "I value having a vodka cocktail at the end of the day because it helps me transition from a very intense work schedule to a bit of a private life [...] I never thought about youth, probably because I work with the most beautiful women in the world on a daily basis. And because of that I more envision them as my muses, and maybe it's a way of dealing with aging that is productive."
"So I always said that a vodka cocktail, a lot of sleep, but work, work is the magic elixir," she said.
In an exclusive with the Daily Mail, while she admits she's "frightened" with aging, it's not something she's "preoccupied" with thinking about.
"I think what happens sometimes as you age... I'm more frightened about physical disabilities... not all this," she said. "I'm not totally preoccupied with how I look. I love my work, and I'm very passionate about my work, my friends, my daughters... I mean, I have a very full life."
