Michael Kors Launches Debut Children's Line
This spring, Michael Kors launches its first jet-set children's line for girls from four to 14.
After being around for 41 years, Michael Kors is taking its crack at children's clothing. Today, the brand launched its debut line in stores and online for girls from four to 14 years old.
The campaign, which was shot in Ibiza, features an oceanside jet-setting vibe as a group of young girls wear the collection while playing in the sun on the Mediterranean island. Each piece, though designed with a younger demographic in mind than the brand's usual customer, carries the same New York sensibility that Michael Kors is known for, while also diving into the theme of travel by playing with a beachy color scheme. As it's geared towards children, the line ranges from comfortable tees and shorts to hats for shielding from strong UV rays.
Throughout the campaign, the young models are shown hanging by the sea on boats with friends donning MK-branded swimsuits from the collection. The capsule includes a number of playful pieces like a heart-shaped purse and an adorable pink tote.
In tandem with the collection's launch, Michael Kors is holding kid-friendly activations in major fashion hubs around the world including New York, Dubai, Paris, and Marbella, Spain. These events will allow visitors to experience the jet-set theme of the collection for themselves while also showcasing everything that the new collection has to offer.
Later on in the year, Michael Kors will expand to include sizes 3-months to 3T for toddlers. This means within a year, your baby can be dripped out in a onesie to match your bag.
