Britney Spears Speaks Out After Hulu's 'Framing Britney Spears' Documentary
Following the media frenzy behind the newly released Hulu and New York Times-produced documentary Framing Britney Spears, the beloved Y2K pop star Britney Spears is now voicing her opinion on the subject. The star posted a throwback performance clip of her hit song "Toxic" to Instagram, under which she writes, "Each person has their story and their take on other people's stories!!!! We all have so many different bright beautiful lives!!!" She continues, "Remember, no matter what we think we know about a person's life it is nothing compared to the actual person living behind the lens."
Fans and friends of the pop singer and celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker have spoken out on her behalf on social media since the news regarding her father Jamie Spears' vicious conservatorship recently came to light. Digging into Britney's 13 year long conservatorship, which granted her father full control over her personal and professional life and finaces from 2008 until now, the documentary has amassed a wave of support for the star. The legal battle over the conservatorship will return to court this week amidst calls to #FreeBritney.
According to a source close to Spears, there were parts of the documentary that were definitely too "hard and emotional for her to watch" but that ultimately, she felt that "for the first time in many years, people are on her side and things will get better for her."
The source also claimed that the pop star will be producing her own biographical documentary with the help of a top female director and that she hopes to release the movie once her father is no longer the head of her conservatorship, which will also be the time she can start working again according to her lawyer. In the meantime, Spears says that she's "taking the time to learn and be a normal person."
