Remembering Frank Sinatra's Early Years
In celebration of the late Frank Sinatra's birthday, L'OFFICIEL rounds up young photos throughout his life.
To be known as one of the best entertainers of your respective generation is one thing—to continue to be recognized for your talents amongst generations beyond yours is something completely different. Unquestionably one of the best entertainers during the Golden Age of Hollywood, Frank Sinatra's legacy is one like no other.
Within his lengthy repertoire of top-selling songs were hits such as "Fly Me To The Moon," "The Way You Look Tonight," "My Way," "The Best Is Yet To Come," "New York, New York," and "That's Life." His soothing voice and noticeable charisma had all the young women of his time swept off their feet, and decades later, you still can't help but swoon as you listen to his deep baritone voice.
His talents went beyond just music as he was an Academy Award-winning actor. He made his acting debut in the 1943 films Higher And Higher and Reveille with Beverly. His success continued throughout the '50s on both the music and film front as he starred in movies such as From Here to Eternity, The Man With The Golden Arm, and Young at Heart, all whilst making impressive record sales.
In 1955 Sinatra became a member of the Rat Pack, an informal group of entertainers that included Dean Martin, Joey Bishop, Sammy Davis Jr., and Peter Lawford. The Rat Pack would become a force in film with starring roles in movies such as Ocean's Eleven, Four for Texas, and Robin and the Seven Hoods. Having benefited from a successful career spanning more than 50 years, Sinatra's lasting impact remains influential today.
