Meet the multihyphenate musician who slid onto the scene with her viral single "Sue Me" after finding success songwriting for pop superstar Gracie Abrams.&nbsp;

For many <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/sombr-musician-songs-real-name-tour" target="_blank" rel="noopener">emerging musicians</a>, finding a niche in an industry more saturated than ever before isn't easy. But for Audrey Hobert, a 26-year-old Los Angeles native, focusing on entertainment, pure and simple, has been the key to resonating with audiences &mdash; and her unique, quirky persona scores her plenty of points, too.&nbsp;
Hobert released her first single &mdash; and smash hit &mdash; "Sue Me" earlier in 2025, which found massive success online. Just two months later, she played her first headlining concert, and followed it up with another major milestone &mdash; her first debut album, released in August 2025, Who's the Clown?
Speedy as her rise to wider recognition has been, her journey in the industry didn't start with her own original music &mdash; it began back in <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/celebrities-that-went-to-high-school-together" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fifth grade</a>, when she met breakout pop singer <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/gracie-abrams-paul-mescal-dating-glastonbury-festival-2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gracie Abrams</a>. The two have been friends &mdash; and roommates, for a period of time &mdash; since childhood, and it was with Abrams where the "Sue Me" singer began to exercise her songwriting muscles.&nbsp;

Hobert has writing credits on several of Abrams' biggest hits, including "I Love You, I'm Sorry," and also directed the massively viral song's music video. The pair have performed the song live together on numerous occasions since its release.&nbsp;
&ldquo;She is brilliant and deserves all the ears and eyes,&rdquo; Abrams <a href="https://www.nylon.com/entertainment/gracie-abrams-thats-so-true-interview-tour-new-album" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told Nylon</a> of Hobert late last year. &ldquo;The music she&rsquo;s making right now is my favorite sh-t ever. You&rsquo;ll love it.&rdquo;
Between her funky personal style and charmingly eccentric sense of humor, it's clear why fans and friends alike sing her praises.&nbsp;

Abrams isn't Hobert's only <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/meet-the-next-generation-of-pop-stars-singers-musicians-to-watch-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pop princess</a> backer &mdash; she's also received recognition from others, including Phoebe Bridgers, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/nell-mescal-paul-mescal-sister-singer-musician" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nell Mescal</a>, and Lizzy McAlpine.&nbsp;
Aside from her work with longtime friend Abrams, Hobert has also written and directed music for her brother, Malcom Todd &mdash; indie pop stardom runs in the family, evidently.&nbsp;
Though Hobert has risen to recognition as the quirkiest It girls of the moment, she began her writing career several years back.&nbsp;

After graduating from New York University in 2021, she followed in her father's footsteps and worked as a TV writer with Nickelodeon for a stint. Her dad, Bill Hobert, is a writer and producer with credits on long-running shows like Scrubs&nbsp;and&nbsp;The Middle &mdash;&nbsp;prompting some to label her as the music industry's latest <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/nepo-baby-celebrity-response-nepotism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nepo baby</a>.&nbsp;
While she's been vocal about her love of writing for the screen, she has also said publically that she's found plenty of joy in writing and performing fun <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/meet-the-next-generation-of-pop-stars-singers-musicians-to-watch-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pop music</a>.&nbsp;
On the tails of her debut album's release, fans are quickly rising in number, and many are speculating a potential set of upcoming shows is in the works &mdash; but if there's one thing Hobert does, it's keep the general public on their toes, so live music lovers will likely need to be eagle-eyed to snag any future tickets.&nbsp;
