The Royal Family needs your help, and they're willing to pay.  According to LinkedIn, The Royal Household is in search of a communications assistant at the Private Secretary’s Office in Buckingham Palace. The entry-level role was posted six days ago, not long after the Photoshop fracas. It sounds like the Royal Communications team needs a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed graduate to help them with the public relations ordeals they've been experiencing lately. Kate Middleton's disappearance is just one of the many on the laundry list of other issues the British royal family is currently facing, including Harry and Meghan's ongoing feud with the working royals, and the news about the King's declining health.

"The Royal Communications team promotes the work, role, relevance, and value of the Royal Family to a worldwide audience," the post reads. "The reaction to our work is always high-profile, and so reputation and impact will be at the forefront of all that you do. Whether working on a state visit, ceremonial event, or royal engagement, you'll make sure our communications consistently spark interest and reach a range of audiences."

If they are truly hiring someone entry-level for this position, try to imagine a young adult in their early twenties whose greatest concern until recently revolved around crafting a text message to their situationship, now tasked with managing the discreet and high-profile affairs of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. One should note that this role will not handle the communications of the Prince and Princess of Wales, as they have their own communications team that works under a separate office, presumably based in Kensington Palace. So before you Kate Middleton students and theorists rush to the applicant portal, please keep that in mind.

The job's list of responsibilities involve assisting senior colleagues in both proactive and reactive communications, facilitating media access to royal engagements at various locations, and producing content across different platforms, including media advisories, social media updates, and feature articles. Additionally, the responsibilities include responding to day-to-day media inquiries related to the work of members of the Royal Family, providing administration support, managing the accreditation process for state visits (whatever that means), and offering logistical support to both the media and the Royal Communications team.

Who exactly do they have in mind for this role? Glad you asked. They are specifically looking for someone with a communications background with a "clear passion for current affairs." They also require a person with worthy interpersonal skills who is "able to effectively connect with a diverse range of individuals, both internally and externally." Additionally, they need someone with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment who can quickly establish trust. Oh, and by the way, yes, you do need to know Excel for this job.

Not to worry, this assistant's 37.5 hours of work per week will be rewarded with a whopping £25,642.50 every year. Well, at least whoever this young communications hopeful is will be entitled to enjoy 25 days of leave a year (plus bank holidays), an "excellent" non-contributory pension plan, a range of leave options to support parental leave, volunteering days, as well as benefits to support physical and mental health. They'll also throw in 20% off at Royal Collection Trust Shops and free admission to visit the royal family's estates that are open to the public.

This interesting new job opportunity can be found here. Oh, and if you're hoping to apply and happen to have a connection to *checks notes* Tom Eckersall, be sure to inquire, as he's the Head of Recruitment for the Royal Household.
