Taylor Swift's Generosity On The Eras Tour Is Leaving A "Long-Lasting Impact"

Though she might be on the highest grossing tour of all time with The Eras Tour, Taylor Swift is still giving back to the cities and people that have made it all possible.

After playing three sold-out nights in a row to over 220,000 fans in Edinburgh and breaking the all-time highest attendance record for a stadium show, news began to spread that Taylor Swift had expressed her gratitude to the city with more than just a thank you speech onstage.

The Edinburgh Food Project (EFP) announced that they were contacted by the singer's team before her Edinburgh concerts so that she could make a donation to the charity. Though the EFP opted to keep her donation amount under wraps, they noted in an Instagram post that "this gift will mean people in crisis will also feel the long-lasting impact" of The Eras Tour. In response to Swift's charitable donation, the EFP has been encouraging fans to keep supporting their mission of providing meals to people in need by donating 13 pounds—Swift's lucky number.

Swift has also been known to be extremely generous with her tour crew and staff. At the end of her U.S. leg of tour last August, Swift gave heafty bonuses of $100,000 to each of her tour bus drivers. Members of the lighting, audio, visual, and catering teams also received bonuses. The amount totaled up to $55 million from Swift.

In an interview with CNN, the CEO of Shomotion trucking company Michael Scherkenbach talked about the impact of Swift's generosity on his employees. “Look, fair wage doesn’t put you in a position to buy a home. But this [bonus] opens up that possibility,” he said. "It’s a grueling task. They leave their families, young children for weeks. For Taylor’s tour, they’ve been away from home for 24 weeks.” He also shared that Swift made handwritten notes for every driver that was given a bonus, and she sealed each monogrammed envelope with a wax seal.

Being in the industry for as long as she has, it's clear that Swift has learned a thing or two about saying thank you. From sending fans personalized Christmas presents to helping pay off their student loans, she's always been committed to giving back wherever possible. With an income of nearly $2 billion from this tour alone, it makes sense that she is looking for places to leave a positive impact with her earnings.

Her donation to the Edinburgh Food Project is not the first time that Swift has made the move to donate money to charities in the cities she has been touring in, either. She's been committed to finding local food banks along her tour route ever since it started last year. Here's a roundup of just a few of the charities that we know Swift has made donations to since The Eras Tour started.

Arizona Food Bank Network

With Glendale, AZ being the first stop on The Eras Tour when it opened, Swift made sure to seek out the Arizona Food Bank Network first and make a generous donation. The organization shared in a tweet that Swift would help provide thousands of meals with her donation.

In Philadelphia, Swift found Philabundance, an organization that donated 39 million meals in the last year alone, to donate to. The organization thanked Swift on X by saying, "Thank you...for your generous donation and helping us to SHAKE OFF hunger in the communities we serve. Your donate will help us meet the growing need for food."

In Seattle, Swift donated to Food Lifeline, an organization that helps supply food banks throughout Western Washington. Mark Coleman, spokesperson for Food Lifeline, said in an interview with local news channel KIRO7 that "[Swift's] fans are a younger gen that is very motivated to end hunger. So when we see this kind of donation, we know that conversation is happening out there.”

While she was on a break between legs of The Eras Tour, Swift attended a gala with her boyfriend Travis Kelce for Patrick Mahomes' foundation, 15 And The Mahomies, which is dedicated to improving the lives of children. At the gala, Swift donated tickets to The Eras Tour which were auctioned off for $80,000.
