From her ultra-chic style to her classic elegance to her philanthropic efforts, the Princess of Wales has emerged as one of the world's most beloved royal figures in recent years.&nbsp;
In a romantic, extravagant wedding ceremony, Kate Middleton married Prince William in 2011 with over 72 million viewers watching the proceedings, making the event one of the most highly-watched in recent history. The couple are parents to George, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/princess-charlotte-twinning-kate-middleton-diana-9th-birthday-photo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Charlotte</a>, and Louis, and split their time between family obligations, royal duties, and charitable endeavors across the world.&nbsp;
Before she was Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, she was Kate Middleton of Berkshire, where she spent much of her childhood. Middleton was born to Michael and Carole Middleton&mdash;a family with distant ties to the royal lineage of England. The Princess of Wales enjoyed a quiet childhood and spent her teen years at <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/hugh-grosvenor-olivia-henson-wedding" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marlborough College</a>, a boarding school where she became the captain of the girl's field hockey team and maintained excellent grades. Following her graduation, she took a gap year, and studied abroad in Florence and Chile. Middleton earned her degree from the University of St. Andrews, and throughout her time there, studied art history, engaged in on-campus philanthropic clubs, and worked part-time. The Princess of Wales met <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/young-photos-prince-william" target="_blank" rel="noopener">William</a> while at university in 2001, and the two began dating in 2003&mdash;marking the start of a long relationship. Although they had met previously, Middleton reportedly caught Prince William's attention after he saw her on stage modeling for a charity fashion show, and after the runway presentation, the two struck up a friendship that eventually blossomed into a royal union.&nbsp;
