Charli XCX Joins the Coveted List of Stars to Front a Skims Campaign
From electronic pop star Charli XCX to podcasting queen Alex Cooper to the NFL's sexiest defensive end, Nick Bosa, here's L'OFFICIEL's list of celebs who have modeled for Skims.
Kim Kardashian's revolutionary lifestyle brand, Skims, was founded in 2019 with the intention of bringing accessible, comfortable, and attractive shapewear into the underwear market. What started as Kardashian's passion project is now a booming multi-billion-dollar enterprise that has seen countless collaborations with public figures and celebrities. The New York Times reported that the shapewear brand is worth a whopping $4 billion. It's safe to say that with the brand's financial backing mixed with a Kardashian business-savvy mindset, Skims was destined for greatness, and that greatness is largely translated by the innumerable collaborations the brand has had with celebrities, athletes, and internet personas.
Below, find L'OFFICIEL's roundup of the brand's most iconic celebrity-featured campaigns, ranging from athletes to pop stars to internet personalities.
Charli XCX
SKIMS has officially embraced Brat summer, with Charli XCX as her newest muse and campaign star. The wet and wild photoshoot has stunned the internet and left jaws gaping. The showstopping shoot was captioned with a quote from Charli, “SKIMS empowers people to feel confident in their own skin, which is the essence of brat.”
In the shoot, the "Guess" singer wore the Cotton Rib and Cotton Fleece styles as she posed for the ultra-buzzy brand. Shot by photography icon Petra Collins, the campaign sees Charli XCX in an entirely new, but not at all off-brand environment.
“I am excited to be working with a brand that understands that comfort and style don’t need to be compromised," Charli continued. "Shooting with Petra for this campaign was a dream and I was so excited to get on set and wear these timeless, sexy pieces. Also the puppies were beyond cute.”
Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina Carpenter, the music industry's latest It girl, is the newest celebrity to join the growing list of Skims models. Ahead of Carpenter's Coachella debut, Kim Kardashian selected the singer to join the Skims spring campaign, citing her undeniable fashion influence, pop star status, and sway with younger generations.
“I loved the femininity of the whole creative. I feel very excited SKIMS chose me to be the face of this campaign as I’ve always been a fan of the brand," the "Feather" singer said in a press release.
Evidently, Carpenter wasn't the only one excited about her collaboration with Skims, as the singer's rumored boyfriend, Saltburn's Barry Keoghan, commented "🔥🥵 barbie emoji" under her post, prompting wild reactions from fans of the couple.
Alex Cooper
Skim's latest Wedding Shop campaign starred everyone's favorite sex-positive podcaster, Alex Cooper. Posing alongside her fiance, Matt Kaplan, the internet personality models a collection that features a series of lacy intimates and alluring corsets.
“I’ve always loved SKIMS, and I was so excited when they asked me to star in the campaign. SKIMS Wedding Shop is coming at the perfect moment, and to be a part of the launch ahead of my own wedding makes it such an extra fun celebration,” Cooper said in a statement.
Cardi B
Cardi B has solidfied herself as a legendary female rapper, so it comes as no suprise that Kim Kardashian would want the Grammy-winning icon to be part of Skims' legacy. Kardashian couldn't have made a better business decision as Cardi B's campaign was reported to have generated more than $4 Million in media impact value according to a WWD.
Kate Moss
When you think of modeling royalty, you think of Kate Moss. The '90s supermodel posed for the shapewear brand in Summer 2023. “I first met Kate [Moss] in 2014 through [Burberry’s chief creative officer] Riccardo Tisci and was instantly struck by her cheeky humor, authentic and classic beauty — we’ve been friends ever since,” Kardashian said about the model in a statement. “She is the fashion icon, defining whole generations of culture and style."
Lana Del Ray
This Valentine’s Day, everyone's favorite coquette singer, Lana Del Rey, represented the brand. Skims' romance collection expanded the Kardashian-helmed brand's purview and allowed the label to enter the lingerie market.
SZA
Brooke Shields
Brooke Shields' campaign with Skims can be added to the list of iconic celebrity brand partnerships. The actress and model took to Instagram to post the gorgeous pictures of herself from the campaign with a caption that read, "I’m so honored and excited to be in @SKIMS first ever bra campaign. I can honestly say that these bras are something we can all feel confident and comfortable in. 🤍"
Kim Cattrall
To no one's surprise, Kim Catrall looked stunning in her Skims campaign. In an interview she gave to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress says she was *not* channeling Samantha Jones in the campaign.
"No, I was just being myself. The press said the same thing when I was wearing Olivier’s gorgeous Balmain suit. I think for the rest of my life there will always be that association, and I take it as a fantastic compliment," Catrall said. "She was such a wonderful character, but she’s part of me. I created her. It’s not Samantha, it’s me."
Megan Fox
Megan Fox's friendship with Kourtney Kardashian was further solidified when they teamed up for this Skims campaign. In a series of alluring shots, Kardashian and Fox are seen in the Jersey Dipped Thong and the Jersey Triangle Bralette standing front-to-front while biting into an apple. Another photo shows the pair sharing a plate of cherries. The steamy campaign certainly caught many people's attention.
Addison Rae
For Skim's one year anniversary campaign, Addison Rae donned a blackbody suit and was shown on multiple billboards across the country. “A Year in @skims! I always feel super confident and comfortable in my @skims, I’m so excited to be part of their one-year Anniversary campaign,” the influencer wrote via her Instagram.
Chelsea Handler
Chelsea Handler accompanied Shields in Skim's first bra campaign and was among the women chosen to represent the brand's "continued ethos of empowering all women."
"More women should be empowered to show off their boobs," the comedian said in relation to the campaign. "I loved being a part of this campaign for SKIMS bras to celebrate that!"
Nelly Furtado
The singer who gave us iconic 2000s hits like "Maneater" and "Promiscious" brought forth the 2000s It girl charm for this Skims campaign. In a series of sexy shots, Nelly Furtado shows off her curves by fashioning Skims's best selling products including the SKIMS Sculpting Mid Thigh Bodysuit.
Patrick and Brittany Mahomes
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes celebrated the holiday season as the football player, his wife Brittany Mahomes, and their two children modeled the brand's holiday pajamas.
“This is our first campaign as a family, and shooting for SKIMS all together was an awesome moment,” Mahomes shared in a press release. “I’m all about comfort, and these sets will be my go-to at home all season.”
Usher
Preceeding his anticipated Super Bowl performance and the release of his album Coming Home, Usher modeled the brand's menswear collection, which included a collection of lightweight cotton boxers.
Neymar Jr.
Brazilian soccer player Neymar Jr. continues to be known as one of the best soccer players of all time, and with Kardashian bearing witness to the world of soccer via her son's love for the sport, the entrepreneur likely took notice of this athlete's lasting impact.
“Neymar just has such a huge influence in sports and culture, and that is totally undeniable,” Kardashian said to GQ. “Neymar is just what Skims men's is all about. He is one of the greats. I think that he is so powerful in his field and I believe that Skims men's is a really powerful brand. It’s empowering for women, and now will be the same for men."
Nick Bosa
To add to list of athletes Kardashian chose to employ for her menswear campaign, Nick Bosa, the defensive end for the San Francisco 49ers, was chosen to model the brand's Boyfriend Collection.
"I was surprised by how many men, especially athletes, gravitated to the brand," said Skims co-founder Jens Grede told Men's Health. "They would say, 'If you ever do men's, we will be in the campaign. If you ever do men's, you got to think of me first.'"
