Lady Gaga Sings National Anthem, Jennifer Lopez Performs at Joe Biden's Inauguration
A celebratory day at the White House, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez joined the inauguration ceremony to commemorate President Joe Biden's swearing-in. Lady Gaga took the stage in a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture black and red gown to sing the National Anthem. Soon after, Jennifer Lopez emerged in suffragette white to sing a heartfelt rendition of "This Land is Your Land." The Bronx-born Puerto Rican singer included a message in Spanish, saying "One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." Lopez also gave a "Let's Get Loud" nod before finishing with "America the Beautiful."
Before her performance, Gaga took to Instagram the day before the inauguration to share a message of love from the U.S. Capitol.
Lopez also arrived in Washington DC early, stopping to take pictures with U.S. servicemen and women and sharing a post saying that she would "sing for you and all Americans" at her inauguration day performance.
Other inauguration ceremony performances included Garth Brooks singing "Amazing Grace” and poet Amanda Gorman's reading of "The Hill We Climb." Later tonight, Tom Hanks will host a special televised event with performances by Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake and more.
